Two More Political Secretaries For Sarawak CM

KUCHING, Feb 13 (Bernama) -- Two more people were today sworn in as political secretaries to Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, bringing to 24 the total number of such appointments.

They are Suzanne Lee, former Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) Wanita chief, and Maurice Joannes Giri, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Machan branch deputy chairman.

Lee, 51, and Maurice, 50, took their oath of office before Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Alfred Jabu at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, here. Sarawak Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh and several assistant ministers were among those present at the ceremony.

Lee, who started her political career by joining SUPP in 1987, rose up to become the party's Wanita chief in 2009. She has also been active in several social and charitable organisations within and outside Sarawak.

Maurice, 50, was a PBB member for 10 years before being elected to his present position in 2010. The human resource consultant holds a Master of Science degree in training and human resources from Leicester University.
